FAQ

What kind of therapy do you offer?

I offer an eclectic mix of Evidence-Based Practices (EBP) depending on your needs. These include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing (MI), and other Strengths-based approaches.

How do I prepare for a session and what can I expect?

You can expect to feel heard, understood and respected each time we meet. You can expect to have your goals identified with tangible steps to create the life you want. You can expect a reduction in problematic symptoms and an increase in clarity and positive emotions.

For the best results, be in a comfortable and private environment. Consider bringing a dedicated therapy journal.

Why choose a social worker (LCSW) for therapy?

Social Workers are guided by core values of service, social justice, integrity, dignity and worth of all individuals and the importance of human relationships. We are trained in direct practice, advocacy, policy development, and research. Our training provides an array of tools, knowledge and experience to draw from.

Social Workers strive to enhance your well-being, with particular sensitivity for vulnerable and oppressed individuals.

If these values speak to you, a Social Worker is the right choice for you.

Do you accept private pay?

I offer private pay at $120 per session.
Sliding Scale prices are offered, please inquire. Payments by credit card or health savings account are accepted.

What is your cancellation policy?

Appointments must be canceled or rescheduled at least 24 hours in advance to avoid any charges. Clients who cancel a session with less than 24 hours notice, or miss a session, will be charged a $25 cancellation fee to their credit card on file.

All sessions have a 10 minute grace period for clients to attend.

Which insurance do you accept?

InBeing Counseling is an in-network provider with Aetna, Cigna, and United Health Care. I can provide a super bill for out-of-network reimbursement.

How does insurance work?

If you are using any of the listed insurance providers, I will submit your claims. You will be responsible for your co-pay each session. If you have a deductible to meet, you will be responsible for paying the insurance providers contracted rate until your deductible is met.

If I am not in network with your insurance provider, I can provide you with a superbill to submit for out of network reimbursement.

In order for a therapist to submit a claim to your insurance company, that claim form must include a mental health diagnosis for which you are receiving treatment. This information is accessible by insurance companies. Insurance companies determine the time intervals they will pay for, and the therapeutic modalities they will accept.
